Per hour

Transcription Plus, LLC assigns the same transcriptionists to a client, allowing transcriptionists to be familiar with the dictators format (i.e., your own personal virtual staff).  The more familiar a transcriptionist becomes with a specific client’s technique, the less time it takes to transcribe their information.  Other succinct protocol  used to accelerate the process are use of macros, text expanders, templates, and electronic client letterhead.  The more intelligible the audio, the less time it takes to process. The long-term solution of charging per hour is the best cost-value and quality solution for our clients.

Per Character

Each ‘black’ character is electronically counted, providing a straightforward computation of each imprint.  Expenditures cover the production of information yielded from an audio file, regardless how long it takes to transcribe or what kind of format and protocol is specified.  However, with our use of comprehensible audio, macros, text expanders, templates, and electronic client letterhead (as noted in “per hour”), per character costs do not reflect our diminutively actual processing time; thereby commonly inflating transcription expenditures.

Per line

Line counts are full of variables and, therefore, can be distorted.  The length of any line of print fluctuates depending on the page margins, font style and size, how full a line is of words and line justification.  Unless otherwise specified by our client, Transcription Plus, LLC  specifies an electronically counted line as 65 characters/Times Roman/12;unjustified.   However, with our use of  comprehensible audio, macros, text expanders, templates, and electronic client letterhead (as noted in “per hour”), per line costs do not reflect our diminutively actual processing time; thereby commonly inflating transcription expenditures.

Per minute

Sated with inconsistencies, including format (single-person dictation, 1:1 interviews, focus groups) audio contamination, etc., a quoted price would be established based on these variables.  It certainly takes less time to process a single-dictator transcript than one where the microphone is placed far from the speaker(s) and/or everyone is speaking over each other.  The per minute option is best suited for digital audio, which are exact in length.   However, with our use of  comprehensible audio, macros, text expanders, templates, and electronic client letterhead (as noted in “per hour”), per minute costs do not reflect  our diminutively actual processing time; thereby commonly inflating transcription expenditures.

Per page

How much information does a page contain?  Once more, the results are solely dependent on page format, line-spacing (double or single), margins (0.5’ to 2’ inches), font style (e.g., .Courier takes up much more space than a proportional font like Times New Roman) and font size (varying from 10 to 14pts).  A quoted price would be established based on these variables.  If interviewees give short answers, separated by a double space, it could mean that a page contains very little information and a lot of blank space is being paid for.  Of course, it cuts both ways.
